เด็กสาววัย 17 ประสบปัญหาครอบครัวอย่างรุนแรงจนมีเหตุจำเป็นที่ต้องหนีออกจากบ้านในช่วง 1 ปีที่ผ่านมา เธอได้รับความลำบากอย่างแสนสาหัสทั้งทางกายและทางใจ ในวันหนึ่งที่เธอรู้สึกอ่อนล้าเต็มกำลังและไม่มีที่จะไปอีกแล้ว เธอใช้เงินที่เหลือติดกระเป๋าเพียงไม่กี่สิบบาทเพื่อซื้ออาหารกลางวันจากร้านขายกับข้าวแห่งหนึ่งและเข้ามานั่งทานเงียบๆ ในวัดของภิกษุณีแห่งหนึ่งที่เธอไม่รู้จัก เธอสังเกตุเห็นว่ามีสุนัขตัวหนึ่งที่กำลังหิว เขามีรอยกัด รอยถูกทำร้ายจากสุนัขตัวอื่นตามเนื้อตามตัว เธอจึงเกิดความสังเวชสุนัขตัวนั้นเป็นที่สุด รู้สึกว่าเขาได้ผ่านความยากลำบากมาอย่างที่เธอเคยได้รับและรู้สึกมีส่วนร่วมในความทุกข์ของสุนัข ถึงแม้ว่าอาหารในกล่องจะมีอยู่ไม่มากนัก เธอก็ยอมที่จะอดทานอาหารทั้งหมด ซึ่งเป็นอาหารมื้อสุดท้ายของเธอ และตัดสินใจเสียสละแบ่งอาหารมากกว่าครึ่งหนึ่งให้กับสุนัขตัวนั้นไป
ภิกษุณีในวัดได้ทราบถึงการมาของเธออยู่ก่อนหน้าแล้ว และมีญาณหยั่งรู้ถึงวาระจิตของเด็กสาวดี ท่านพบว่าเด็กสาวคนนั้นมีบารมีมากพอที่จะโปรด เสมือนดอกบัวที่พ้นน้ำแล้ว รอแสงพระอาทิตย์จะบานออก เมื่อได้ฟังธรรมก็สามารถรู้และเข้าใจในเวลาอันรวดเร็ว ซึ่งพอดีกันกับที่มีฆาราวาสผู้ศรัทธากลุ่มหนึ่งมาขอถวายสังฆทานที่วัด ท่านจึงจัดให้ญาติโยมถวายสังฆทานแก่ท่านในบริเวณใต้ต้นศรีมหาโพธิ์ซึ่งอยู่ใกล้กันกับเด็กสาวคนดังกล่าว เด็กสาวมองเห็นลักษณะของท่านภิกษุณีแลดูมีความผ่องใสเจิดจรัสผิดกับคนทั่วไปและกิริยาที่สำรวมดูน่าเคารพยิ่ง เธอรู้สึกเลื่อมใสท่านเป็นอย่างมาก และเฝ้าดูการถวายสังฆทานที่เกิดขึ้นใกล้ๆ ด้วยความสนใจ เธอได้ยินคำเทศนาที่ท่านได้มีให้แก่ญาติโยมถึงเรื่อง บุญกิริยาวัตถุ 10, อานิสงส์แห่งทานบารมี ศีล และปัตตานุโมทนามัย เธอฟังท่านภิกษุณีที่อยู่ห่างออกไปอย่างตั้งใจ เธอได้พิจารณาอย่างถี่ถ้วนจนเกิดธรรมปีติอย่างเหลือล้นชนิดที่ไม่เคยได้รับมาก่อน ในขณะที่ญาติโยมกำลังประเคนถวายสังฆทานแก่พระคุณเจ้านั้น เด็กสาวเกิดปีติอย่างแรงกล้าจนน้ำตาไหลล้นออกมา เธอยกมือขึ้นกล่าว "อนุโมทนา" ทันใดนั้นด้วยบารมีที่เธอได้สะสมมานับเอนกอนันตชาติ เธอจึงเกิดดวงตาเห็นธรรม จิตของเธอจึงพ้นแล้วจากอบายภูมิทั้ง 4 เสมือนผู้ที่พายเรือข้ามไปยังอีกฝั่งได้เป็นผลสำเร็จ ความทุกข์ที่ต้องเผชิญมาตลอดตั้งแต่เล็กจนโตมลายหายสูญสิ้น ทวยเทพเทวดาทั่วทั้งโลกธาตุต่างกล่าว "สาธุการ" กันเลือนลั่น
หลังจากที่ฆาราวาสกลุ่มนั้นกราบนมัสการลาพระคุณเจ้าและเดินทางกลับไปแล้ว เด็กสาวจึงได้มีโอกาสเข้าไปกราบนมัสการท่านภิกษุณีด้วยสีหน้าที่ผ่องใส และสายตาแน่วแน่ที่เปี่ยมไปด้วยพลัง เธอบรรจงกราบพระคุณเจ้าด้วยความซาบซึ้งอ่อนน้อมและปีติ ท่านจึงให้โอวาสและเทศนาสอนเรื่องต่างๆ หลังจากวันนี้ เด็กสาวยังคงออกไปใช้ชีวิตในทางโลก แต่อยู่บนพื้นฐานของศีล สมาธิ ปัญญา และเดินตามอริยมรรคมีองค์ 8 ด้วยบุญบารมีของความเป็นพระอริยบุคคล รวมถึงเหล่าพรหม เทพเทวดาที่คอยช่วยปกปักษ์รักษา ได้นำพาให้ชีวิตของเธอให้มีความเจริญรุ่งเรืองขึ้นในเวลาไม่นาน ซึ่งเธอได้กลับไปหามารดาและครอบครัวของเธอเพื่อช่วยเหลือและยังคงเพียรมาอุปัฏฐากรับใช้ท่านภิกษุณีรูปนั้นตลอดมา
A 17-year-old girl faced severe family problems that forced her to flee home for the past year. She has been suffering physical and emotional hardships. One day she felt completely exhausted and had nowhere to go. She spent a few tens of baht in her pocket to buy lunch from a local vendor and sat in silence, in the Bhikkhuni temple that she did not know. She noticed that one dog that came to her was so hungry. He had bite marks and was injured by other dogs. So she had the greatest mourning for that dog. She felt that he had gone through the hardships as she had, and felt involved in the dog's suffering. Although the food in the box is not much. She refused to eat all the food, which is probably her last meal and decided to share more than half of the food with that dog.
One bhikkhuni in the temple was already aware of her coming, and had aware of the mind of the girl. She found that the girl had enough prestige to please, like a lotus flower that has been out of water waiting for the sun to bloom. When listening to the Dharma, they can know and understand in a short time. Which coincides with a group of lay people who come to offer offerings at the temple. So she had arranged the ceremony in the area under the Sri Maha Bodhi tree, which is not far from the girl. The young girl saw that the bhikkhuni's appearance was bright and dazzling, unlike the common people, and her calm and respectful manner. She felt a great admiration for her. She heard the dharma that the bhikkhunihad was giving to those people regarding Ten meritorious deeds, Pattanumotanamai, merit of giving, and precepts. She listened attentively and carefully considered it until she had experienced an unprecedented amount of rapture. While the laypeople were sending the offerings of alms to that bhikkhuni. The girl's rejoicing was so intense that tears overflowed. She raised her hand and said, "Anumodana." Suddenly, with the prestige, she had accumulated in countless lives, therefore she had suddenly the eyes to see righteousness. Thus, her mind has been freed, like a person who successfully paddled across to the other shore. All the suffering that she had to face from childhood to adulthood totally disappeared. All Brahmas and the devas from all over the universe said "Sadhu" to her together.
After that group of lay people paid their respects to the Lord Buddha and left. The young girl had the opportunity to pay homage to the bhikkhuni with a bright face and determination eyes filled with power. She paid homage to her with humility and joy. Then she gave dharmas on various subjects. After that day. the young girl is still living like normal people, but on the basis of precepts, mindfulness, wisdom, and following the Noble Eightfold Path. With the merit of being an Ariya person, also Brahmas, deva who protect her has brought her life to be more prosperous in not so long time. She returned to her mother and family to help them and continued to come back to serve that bhikkhuni forever.
